Inspiration: This painting is bathed in turquoise blues and aqua greens, evoking the depth of the oceans. There are several dark seahorses, floating in a slow, organic dance, as well as stylized marine animal shapes, probably brittle stars or crustaceans delicately drawn, but in an abstract aesthetic. Towards the bottom of the work, a few red and orange shapes appear – perhaps sea urchins or starfish, contrasting with the cool hues of the rest of the scene. The pictorial treatment remains Very gestural, sometimes almost erased or veiled, giving a dreamlike and silent effect, faithful to the atmosphere of the deep seabed.

Corinne Tichadou
France
Corinne Tichadou is a female painter working and living in Beziers, Southern France. Her painting is contemporary, figurative, mythological, biblical, allegorical and contemplative. It weaves links between the past and the present. Through mythology, tales, theatre, opera, biblical stories and her love for Italian Renaissance painting, she seeks timelessness as a philosophy. She paints the human being and questions it about its relationship to the world: to love, to family, to its courage, to its destiny, to its place in society.
