Inspiration: In the White Octopus, Corinne Tichadou explores the tension between fluidity and structure, between marine mystery and almost baroque ornamentation. The animal, whose ghostly silhouette unfolds against a textured background, seems to emerge from the depths of a dream or a sunken memory. Its body, adorned with delicate patterns reminiscent of lace or ancient filigree, contrasts with the raw, watery appearance of the rest of the canvas. The tentacles undulate in an almost calligraphic gesture, reinforcing the organic and symbolic character of the work. This octopus is not only a sea creature: it becomes an allegory of the subconscious, of metamorphosis, and of the link between nature and artifice.

 Corinne Tichadou

France

Corinne Tichadou is a female painter working and living in Beziers, Southern France. Her painting is contemporary, figurative, mythological, biblical, allegorical and contemplative. It weaves links between the past and the present. Through mythology, tales, theatre, opera, biblical stories and her love for Italian Renaissance painting, she seeks timelessness as a philosophy. She paints the human being and questions it about its relationship to the world: to love, to family, to its courage, to its destiny, to its place in society.
