THE DOLLS
Référence :
Oil on canvas by Corinne Tichadou. The artist assembles fragments of personal, mythological and imaginary narratives, blurring the boundaries between real and fantastic. Les Poupées thus becomes a silent theatre of the unconscious, inhabited by the archetypes of childhood, the feminine and the sacred.

Inspiration: In Dolls, Corinne Tichadou composes an enigmatic and symbolic, almost dreamlike scene. In the centre, a frontal, hieratic female figure holds in her arms two anthropomorphic dolls, mute witnesses of a rich and complex inner universe. Its golden halo evokes religious icons, lending a sacred aura to this mysterious motherhood. Around her float dissonant but poetic elements: a white fish with golden scales, an ancient bust topped by a baroque headdress, and a starry sky populated by an isolated star. The floor decorated with plant motifs anchors the scene in an intermediate world, between tale, memory and dream.

Corinne Tichadou
France
Corinne Tichadou is a female painter working and living in Beziers, Southern France. Her painting is contemporary, figurative, mythological, biblical, allegorical and contemplative. It weaves links between the past and the present. Through mythology, tales, theatre, opera, biblical stories and her love for Italian Renaissance painting, she seeks timelessness as a philosophy. She paints the human being and questions it about its relationship to the world: to love, to family, to its courage, to its destiny, to its place in society.
