Gibus, aka Jean-Baptiste Boutin, is a self-taught sculptor trained in graphic arts and communication. After a career as an artistic director in advertising, he embarked on a world tour, in search of what he lacked to fulfill himself as an artist. He comes back rich in encounters and experiences, as he should be, and with the beginnings of a response in the form of a desire that arises. A desire for wood and the hands that work it. From the different essences he works with, he extracts the truth from the forms found there. Pure, simple and fair forms. All his wooden works are and remain unique pieces which will not be reproduced.
