Inspiration: The painting “Three Palm Trees, One Bird” by Corinne Tichadou exudes an atmosphere that is both minimalist and poetic, imbued with symbolism. These slender and almost identical trees, with thin trunks and bushy crowns, can symbolize verticality, stability and unity in diversity. They may evoke Three Linked Beings, as siblings, friends or pillars of the same life. Their roots in a sober land, their elevation towards the sky, and their almost fusional proximity, reflect a form of solidarity or common destiny.

The bright beige background and the harmony of browns create an atmosphere of serenity and timelessness. We feel a discreet warmth, an almost meditative softness, which invites contemplation. There is no busy scenery, which places the palm trees at the center of a refined world, perhaps internal. The single bird that hovers or moves away in the distance contrasts with the immobility of the trees. It can symbolize the freedom, spirit, departure or hope. This little being in the vast empty space gives a Spiritual dimension, even dreamlike, on the blackboard. It could represent the soul detached from matter, or a thought that escapes.

The very vertical, almost hieratic composition invites us to reflect on permanence and passage. The three palms are firmly anchored, while the bird appears to be transitory. This may evoke an opposition between grounding and movement, body and mind, or earthly nature and spiritual elevation.

 Corinne Tichadou

France

Corinne Tichadou is a female painter working and living in Beziers, Southern France. Her painting is contemporary, figurative, mythological, biblical, allegorical and contemplative. It weaves links between the past and the present. Through mythology, tales, theatre, opera, biblical stories and her love for Italian Renaissance painting, she seeks timelessness as a philosophy. She paints the human being and questions it about its relationship to the world: to love, to family, to its courage, to its destiny, to its place in society.
