Inspiration: In this dreamlike composition, Tichadou brings out of a mineral background an elephant with blurred contours, weightless, almost ghostly. The fantastic bestiary rubs shoulders here with delicate flora: orange and purple flowers enliven the edges of the stage, like a fragile echo of the animal’s slight mass. Worked on a textured surface reminiscent of plaster or cement, this work suggests an ancient fresco, a fragment of dream or memory. Between softness and strangeness, Tichadou explores a form of mural poetry, suspended in time.

Corinne Tichadou
France
Corinne Tichadou is a female painter working and living in Beziers, Southern France. Her painting is contemporary, figurative, mythological, biblical, allegorical and contemplative. It weaves links between the past and the present. Through mythology, tales, theatre, opera, biblical stories and her love for Italian Renaissance painting, she seeks timelessness as a philosophy. She paints the human being and questions it about its relationship to the world: to love, to family, to its courage, to its destiny, to its place in society.
