Famous French interior designer, Christian Liaigre (1943-2020) studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris before working as a fashion photographer. It wasn’t until 1985 that he launched his own interior design agency, whose demanding approach emphasized artistic craftsmanship. He favoured the use of noble materials such as wood, bronze, leather and lacquer, while respecting the great tradition of French furniture. In the 1990s, Liaigre expanded its influence around the world by designing the Montalembert Hotel and the Mercer in Soho, New York. His legacy lives on as an example of French elegance and refinement.
