Designer: Interior architect and designer, Michel Boyer divides his activity between the design of spaces, the creation of furniture and that of lighting. Among other things, he was responsible for the interiors of the Rothschild Bank in Paris, completed in 1970. At the end of the 1970s, he was awarded the René-Gabriel Prize, which distinguishes modern mass-produced furniture.
Publisher: Verre Lumière was created in 1968 by master glassmaker Max Ingrand, in association with Mazda and Saint-Gobain. The French company designs and produces contemporary lighting, often made to measure. Under the artistic direction of Ben Swildens, she worked with many architects and designers and marketed her models in small series.
Model: This tall floor lamp, designed by Michel Boyer and published by Verre Lumière at the end of the 1970s, rests on a square section shaft in black lacquered metal. At its top, a chrome-plated metal reflector houses a halogen source. A dimmer, located in the middle of the column, allows you to adjust the intensity of the light, which is projected indirectly towards the ceiling. The opposition of black and chrome and the purity of the line give it the look of a sculpture. It is a representative piece of French design from the late 1970s.
