Galerie OΔK is back in Brussels!

On the occasion of the 5th edition of collectible, Galerie OΔK was back in Brussels from 20 to 22 May 2022 with a new selection of artists around a contemporary reinterpretation of the decorative arts of excellence.

Since its creation in 2018, the Collectible Design Fair has become one of the most anticipated events in the Design scene by collectors and lovers of contemporary art. Indeed, with now five years of existence, Collectible fair is already asserting itself as an international reference where the functional arts of the twenty-first century has never been so well represented Experimental in its approach and unique in its kind, Collectible reveals every year the work of the avant-garde of European design. From 20 to 22 May 2022, the press, designers, architects, galleries and collectors from all over the world are expected at the Espace Vanderborght, in the heart of Brussels for this exhibition dedicated to Collectible Design.

Founded by Clélie Debehault and Liv Vaisberg, two women who have made their classes in the world of Contemporary Art, Collectible offers a fresh and playful selection but always at the cutting edge, both for trends and technology, for amateurs and specialists in search of the best pieces of contemporary design.

This year, Galerie OΔK will present a selection of new works by Hoon Moreau, Clotilde Ancarani, William Guillon, Pierre Casenove and Jonathan Soulié,not to mention an astonishing black mirror byChristophe Gaignon.

The Vanderborght Space:

Owned by the City of Brussels, this building with a wide showcase stands in the centre of Brussels, a stone’s throw from the famous Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and just a shorter way from the Grand Place. It occupies an impressive space of 6,000 square meters of useful area, spread over 5 floors. Built for the benefit of the “New Vanderborght Frères Establishments”, a furniture business (carpets, trinkets, garden furniture, bedding, etc.), the building is designed by a tandem accustomed to working together: the architects Govaerts and Van Vaerenbergh, authors also of the house of Alice and David van Buren — now the van Buuren Museum. The construction site, which began in 1932, was completed in 1935. Modernist style, the design of the building is devoid of any ornament and favors the function. Remarkable for its large windows allowing high visibility, each floor consists of a large modular concrete tray, thanks to a system of sliding partitions on rail. The building is still distinguished by its terraces, a place to exhibit garden furniture but also to relax – you can have tea there at the time! The store went bankrupt in 1980. The Royal Museums of Fine Arts have considered transferring their collections of modern and contemporary art, but the project will remain unfulfilled. The place now houses many exhibitions, mainly focused on contemporary art.
