Inspiration: Dora Stanczel and Tiziana Scaciga, in the authenticity of their own conceptions and aesthetic orientations, find themselves in “micare obscuro”. They share the desire to explore and reveal the material and symbolic qualities of these two elements – Limoges porcelain and silver-black Eclisseo granite – through their similarities and differences, in order to activate a creative process of interdependence. This singular encounter brings together two materials, two women: Dora Stanczel, artist, and Tiziana Scaciga, designer of Pietre Trovanti’s project. They live and work in very different environments: the ocean and the mountains. In “Micare obscuro”, the interaction between Eclisseo granite and Limoges porcelain – observed through their internal and external characteristics – is handcrafted to create an impression of fluidity and solidity. As if the truth of one was intimately linked to that of the other. Like the bright light (micare) which, by its brilliance, fertilizes the darkness (obscure), and vice versa. Although porcelain and granite are objectively different, in nature, origin, manufacturing process, and expression, the idea is to explore their polarity and non-duality. Like an ocean breeze reaching the mountain.
In this creative process, materials are often intentionally and repeatedly brought into contact with water and wind so that the oxidation that emerges from the rock leads to an astonishing transformation of the materials. The oxidized lines of the Eclisseo embody living matter, in constant transformation. During the various stages of stone processing, from extraction to processing, part of the materials are discarded, as they are considered imperfect or irregular, not functional for traditional production. The artists recover this raw material, subjected to a recycling process, in the area of Verbano Cusio Ossola, reintegrating it into a process of regeneration and positive transformation.

Dora Stanczel & Tiziana Scaciga – Micare Obscuro
Micare Obscuro brings together the luminous porcelain of Dora Stanczel and the raw stone of Tiziana Scaciga (Pietre Trovanti). Their collaboration explores the encounter between fragility and strength, light and shadow — a poetic dialogue between material and form.
