Bertrand Chamarty uses ceramics and firing of Japanese origin, raku, to create sculptures of raw and organic dimensions. Here and there, color appears for the precious pieces of a décor that feeds on the past to create the present.
Materials: Glazed and smoky ceramic (Raku firing)
Production: These unique wall pieces seem to have just come out of an excavation. However, they have been shaped today. Fired according to the Japanese raku technique, they came out of the kiln incandescent, then smoked. The thermal shock cracked the enamel, and the smoke drew each crack in black. The fire did the work of time.
Dimensions: elements of 20 x 12 x 3 cm each. Installation diagram provided.
