Inspiration: ” Borrowed from musical vocabulary, glissando refers to the continuous passage from one note to another, without a break. Thierry Genay transposes the principle to still life: through a movement of translation, the objects slide into the frame and leave behind their own wake. A blood orange extends into a halo, a pitcher stretches out in horizontal streaks, while bands of colour from off-screen cross the composition. The genre of the immobile begins to vibrate. The image no longer records a moment but a duration, and the frame opens up to what escapes it.”
