Inspiration: With The Tree of Life, Pascal Cerchi reveals the intimate memory of matter. The sculpture rises like a fragment of a trunk, where a network of organic forms evokes growth, circulation and vital momentum unfolds.
The contrast between the polished, translucent areas and the parts left raw places the work in a fertile tension between nature and human intervention. The veins of alabaster, with their amber and earthy shades, become language themselves, suggesting the sap, time and silent transformations of life.
Both mineral and vegetal, the work reads like a meditation on the origin, continuity and energy that runs through all forms of life.

Emotion, which is possible, belongs to another way of looking at things, and that’s right. Alabaster, in addition to being soft, has another particularity: its translucency. So that all the subjects that emerge are full of the ambient light of the world, this silent treasure. Archetypes and symbols populate my bestiary. Born into a childhood spent between Antibes and Tehran, Pascal Cerchi studied interior architecture at the Camondo school in Paris. Working with the very material of its Alabaster blocks, the artist seeks to reveal their hidden sculptures: thus emerges a bestiary of vestiges, symbols, and excavated objects, as if unearthed from the stone.
