Inspiration: “For this series entitled Peregrinations, the idea was to transcribe memories of walks, visits to places in the south of France. A universe where the expression of these sometimes blurred memories mingles with romanticized images that are expressed via muted tones. A precise moment when it is no longer daylight but not yet quite night. Between dream and reality.” Rémy Allamand
A line of dark cypresses stands out against a veiled sky, where brown and black shades blend into a dense and silent atmosphere. The verticality of the trees, solemn and almost frozen, contrasts with the indistinct horizon, creating an impression of suspension out of time. In this painting, Rémy Allamand captures the melancholy of a nocturnal or twilight landscape. The extinguished light, reduced to a diffuse mist, seems to absorb the details to leave only silhouettes, presences. Between monumentality and fragility, the work opens up a meditative space where the eye is lost in the shadows and the infinite.
