New Wave: Art and Design Exhibition in Toulouse
From October 13, Antoine Vignault highlights the paintings and drawings of Béatrice Pontacq alongside the bronze furniture of Clotilde Ancarani, two artists who draw their creative inspiration from nature and plants.
Hills overlooking a sea of cloud, I feel free, unique at the top of the world. Like Icarus I would have liked to soar and fly like a bird above these imaginary landscapes. A world dreamed by Béatrice Pontacq for the OΔK Toulouse gallery this season. Acrylic, charcoal, oil and clay are the media experimented by the artist to constantly reinvent a remanent theme that evolves according to the seasons from clouds to mountains through islands or Zen gardens.
Clotilde Ancarani is inspired by plant motifs such as these sculptural leaves that become under the artist’s hand, stools, tables but also lighting and candlesticks, which will later be enriched with other motifs such as bark, branches, butterflies or birds. Useful and sublime works, skating on request different patinas of bronze, sometimes sparkling with a thousand lights, sometimes polished like an old leather of Russia.
Antoine Vignault also offers a new staging among the shells of Sophie Brillouet, the functional sculptures of Hoon Moreau as well as a selection of rare vintage furniture, patiently chewed and restored by the antique dealer and decorator Emmanuelle Vidal.
The OΔK Toulouse gallery welcomes you by appointment only at 8 Allée Frédéric Mistral.
