In life as in death, the Egyptians sought to curry favor with the gods. Symbol of eternal life, the heart beetle is an amulet that had a very specific place on the body of the deceased, either at the level of the sternum, sewn to the strips, or directly inside the rib cage, between the seventh and eighth ribs.
