Inspiration: The Saturn carpet is an ode to the night, to space, to the cosmos. On a vast expanse of blues with subtle shades, the stars delicately sparkle in the form of moons woven with silk thread. This carpet is woven by hand, in Iran, in a workshop where men and women each participate in the elaboration of the carpet, in the respect of an ancestral tradition.
The wool comes from the city of Shiraz, the dyes are made from natural pigments. Each carpet is exposed and cleaned in the sun for a long time in order to fix its colors forever.
Materials: Cotton chain, weft in pure Shiraz wool and cotton, gray silk planet patterns
Manufacture: Entirely hand-knotted in Iran (160000 knots per m2), natural dyes
Inspiration: This carpet depicts a night sky studded with large stylized moons. Natural pigments produce infinite shades of blue while silk creates the subtle illusion of lunar soil.
Nicolas Aubagnac
FRANCE
Graduated in 1993 from Ensaama in Interior Design, Nicolas Aubagnac has always had a taste for independance. This led him to open his own studio in 1997 and to develop his first lighting collection. From 2002, the Design Fair PAD offered him an international audience. Since then, his creations entirely made in France, can be found in the most prestigious interiors around the globe. In parallel to his furniture and lighting creations, Nicolas Aubagnac also signs interior design projects for an international and “haut de gamme” clientele.
