ARCHIPELAGOS

« Nowhere exists except within us.» — Rainer Maria Rilke

Archipelagos are suspended worlds, lands that reject unity in order to better celebrate poetic fragmentation. It is in this spirit that we invite the viewer to navigate between the islands of this exhibition—not as destinations, but as so many revelations of a single inner universe. Corinne Tichadou paints these creatures of the threshold: palm trees that rise like vegetal oracles, mermaids that embody the boundary between the tangible and the desirable, octopuses whose tentacles explore the shadowy areas of our imagination. Her pictorial gesture evokes a contemporary mythology, where each form becomes a surface for meditation. Beatriz Garrigo and Charles Brun Theremin populate ceramics with an overflowing luxuriance. Multicolored birds and exuberant plants invade the surface of their pieces, transforming each object into a teeming miniature universe. Their designs speak a language of profusion and material joy, where the earth becomes a continent of color and life. The rope tapestries reveal that absence is also an architecture, that silence can have texture and depth. Together, these artists compose a unique atlas: that of intimate worlds, of the archipelagos we all carry within us and that only art can make visible.

An exhibition proposed by Antoine Vignault among an exclusive selection of furniture by contemporary artists and 20th century design pieces selected by Emmanuelle Vidal.
