Materials: Bronze and oil-rubbed brass. Hammered reflector. The tilting reflector acts on the light, amplifying its reflections or softness depending on the orientation, creating a changing play of light.
Manufacture: Each piece is made to order by Marion Mezenge in her workshop.
Inspiration: A tribute to primatologist Dian Fossey, this sculptural candle holder plays with flame and its reflections. By the mobility of its reflector and the adjustable height of the candle, Dian explores the dialogue between light, matter and nature.
Selected at the regional competition of the Ateliers d’Art de France, Paris, in 2019.
Marion Mezenge
France
A 2013 graduate of the École Boulle, Marion Mezenge is a French artisan-designer specializing in metalwork. After several years working in high-end lighting workshops, she founded her own studio in 2019. Her creations—lighting and interior objects in brass, bronze, and aluminum—explore the relationship between material and light. Winner of the 2024 Young Creation Métiers d’Art Prize, she develops a unique universe where artisanal tradition and contemporary design meet.
