Curtain up on the dreamlike and romantic world of Corinne Tichadou…

“At a time when myths and legends meet, at a time when so many stories are coming to an end so that the most beautiful of all can finally blossom and blossom, the OAK Gallery welcomes the visual artist Corinne Tichadou. Characters imbued with vibrations and anecdotes, radiating charms and magic, lives that one might have lived, on the borders of fantasy and intimacy, these are the subjects subtly revealed by these sketchy and falsely naïve silhouettes on which time seems to have no hold. Fascinating theatrical fables, carefully staged by the artist, where comedy and tragedy subtly dialogue”

CORINNE TICHADOU

Corinne Tichadou was born on September 30, 1970 in Prades in the Pyrénées Orientales. His painting is contemporary, figurative, mythological, biblical, allegorical and contemplative. It weaves links between the past and the present. Through mythology, tales, theatre, opera, biblical stories and her love for Italian Renaissance painting she seeks timelessness as a philosophy. She paints the human and questions his relationship to the world: to love, to family, to his courage, to his destiny, to his place in society. Man has always been surrounded by doubts and fears rooted in the world around him. His characters echo memory, fragility, the strangeness of the soul, vulnerability, melancholy, intimacy and silence. It is a world of thought. As soon as she has a subject and it lodges itself within her, Corinne Tichadou paints it and declines it in a serial way, leaving a whole mixture on its support below the visible image. Today she lives and works in Béziers in the Hérault.
