Pierre Casenove was born in Céret in 1943.
Student of the famous ceramist Bernadette Lhote, he stayed in the 1960s at La Borne where he met ceramists of the time. He will settle near the village from 1980 to 1989.

The use of anagama makes it possible to obtain impressive results on the terracotta without using enamels thanks to the peculiarities of the oxidations and reductions in such an oven. An intense cooking (1350 °) but slow since it lasts 4 days and 4 consecutive nights with permanent risk, to lose several months of work in case of negligence.
